US 41 Auxiliary Lanes

Location of the Project
US 41, from 3.25 miles south of US 231, in St. John, Indiana.

Project Description
Addition of a 14-foot wide auxiliary center left turn lane on US 41. 

  • Phase 1: Closure of northbound right lane while working on the northbound outside widening.

  • Phase 2: Closure of southbound right lane while working on the southbound outside widening.

  • Phase 3: Mill and resurface pavement and restripe lane lines.  

Project Background & Purpose
The addition of auxiliary lanes will allow drivers to safely turn left on US 41 without slowing traffic.
